Cultivate Virtue” and “Pursue Knowledge” come from “The Doctrine of the Mean”, which refer to “respecting one’s innate moral sense” and “seeking knowledge”, respectively. The former emphasises the reverence for one’s inherent moral character, while the latter highlights the power of one’s inquiry into knowledge. Our school is dedicated to promoting character development as well as encouraging students to foster a love of life-long learning.

During the tenure of our fifth Principal, Ms MAK Lai-king (2000-2005), our school invited the renowned scholar Professor Jao Tsung-I to inscribe the school motto: “Cultivate Virtue, Pursue Knowledge” on campus. Professor Jao’s unique seal script is simply striking. We turned his calligraphy into four large carved words displayed prominently in the school hall, which are served as words of enlightenment for our fellow students.
